The View from Here

Ever wonder what the Butterball Turkey Talk-Line looks like?

The Talk-Line experts are serious about making you feel welcome; they are kind and generous and happy to help. And they know more about how to cook a turkey than you would ever imagine possible.

Go ahead, ask them a question. You can’t stump them. I promise.

I kind of want to steal that ON AIR sign and take it home with me. How fun would that be to have on my desk?!? This morning, Carol is juggling interviews and Talk-Line calls, and never missing a beat.

The best part of actually being here is experiencing first-hand the way the Talk-Line experts engage with callers. Phyllis is talking with her hands, because that’s what it takes to explain cooking a turkey. I love that.

The unofficial Talk-Line motto should be “There are no stupid questions!” If you need help with your dinner, call — Alice is here to help, with a smile and a kind word and a wealth of reliable expert advice.

This caller asked Marge how many people she had talked with this year; she laughed and said, “Oh I don’t know — a lot!” I suspect that’s an understatement. A HUGE understatement.

Are they feeding them all chocolate?

      Not chocolate, turkey!

Kidding. They are all just genuinely delighted to be here.
